When I first started blogging, I really struggled to find any interiors bloggers in the UK. I’d just started off documenting the purchase of our first home and it felt like the only other people on the same wavelength were in the US. Really inspiring reads but undeniable that the style of home between the suburbs of Manchester, UK and the enormous open-plan homes of mid-America were just very different worlds – and for that reason, I found reading blogs quite unrelatable.
Over time though, as the blogging scene has grown, so too has my posse of local Manchester bloggers! Ladies with an eye for design and fitting it into a busy lifestyle. Hooray!
I’m 100% sure there are more of us out there (drop me a message if you want to go for a coffee with a crazed toddler and her madly dressed mum) but for now here are my top 10 in Manchester’s Interiors and Lifestyle blogging community who you should definitely check out. Between us, we’ve got some pretty amazingly designed spaces right on our doorstep!
Carnival of Colour
Rebecca is an interior designer by day, and her style is so grandeur it genuinely makes my jaw drop every time I see a room she’s decorated. She’s bold and not afraid to mix together in-your-face patterns with period-inspired art. Her style is, for lack of a better word, epic.
Don’t Cramp My Style
Anna is hard to miss if you spot her out and about in Manchester because of her lush pink hair, and her home is a Pinterest-addicts’s dream. Pinks, greys and whites, it’s a pastel haven and she provides some tip top advice on decorating when you’re a renter.
Karen Barlow
Karen is a fabulous interior designer and after meeting this year at a floral workshop, discovered we are also practically neighbours! She has such a brilliant eye for styling, and she covers so many of the best buys from some of Manchester’s best local markets. If you’ve been following me on Instagram Stories lately, you’ll know this sums up my weekend to a T.
Moregeous
Sian is an interior designer, property developer and self-builder – and dare I use the phrase, kind of a big deal? She’s been a part of the Withington Baths restoration and is often commisioned around Manchester for interiors makeovers with edge and glamour all rolled into one. It’s no wonder she’s often found on the tele. This girl knows her stuff!
Old Fashioned Susie
Susie is one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her style is totally eclectic, with a bit of vintage, lots of one-off quirky charity finds and making it all part of a beautiful family life. Her blog is all levels of lifestyle goals.
Sequin This
Sarah is Manchester’s top lifestyle blogger, and I always go to her when I need to find the next big thing when it comes to eating in the city which also looks dynamite inside. She’s been renovating her house this year and I cannot wait to see how she’s decorated it on her blog.
Simply The Nest
Alice blogs about the renovation of her stunning Victorian home in Manchester but it’s more than just a DIY blog. She’s lovingly restored so many original features of the house, and filled it with beautful colours and murals that her whole family can enjoy. She’s so dedicated to the property and making it a work of art. Really inspiring.
Swoon Worthy
Originally from the States but now an honorary Manc, Kimberley’s home is all kinds of gorgeous. It’s bold, colourful, glamorous, sophisticated and totally liveable. She rocks leopard print as a neutral and is completely unapologetic for her use of gold anywhere and everywhere. And quite right so. It’s KICKASS.
#TidyLife
Antonia is a mum of 3 and I’m in awe as to how she’s created such a stylish home without it looking completely trashed. I’m struggling as a mum of only 1 to try and make megablock-chic a thing! Teach me your ways Antonia.
Well I Guess This Is Growing Up
To those of you who are particularly observant, yup, I’ve included myself! Well I had to round it up to 10 didn’t I? Our style is a little bonkers to say the least as we mix our love of dark walls, colour blocked furniture and dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs all together. We can be found exploring our beloved Manchester at the weekends – something I’d love to cover more of right here on my blog in the future.
So what do you think? Have I missed any? I’m always looking for new reads if you have any suggestions below.
