As a bit of an interiors geek, I seem to have accidentally (read: totally on purpose) found my way onto countless mailing lists, and I’m now the proud owner, much to my husband’s dismay, to a nice weighty stash of seasonal catalogues from some of my most favourite brands.
(The pictures are so pretty – I can’t bring myself to bin them!)
Every time I get my hands on a new catalogue, it’s a great chance to sit down with a brew, flick through the pages and just admire. I will fold down the corners when I really like something. And before I know it, half of the pages are creased and I have a virtual wishlist the size of my arm.
So, I’ve decided – just because I can’t buy them all, that doesn’t mean that you lovely lot wouldn’t like to see what funky stuff is out there. Every month I’ll do a Top 5 picks of what I’m adding to my virtual basket from a different brand or store – Introducing my Add to Basket series.
This May, we’ll begin the series with Graham & Green, one of my favourite shops. I’ve never splurged on their products before, although Joe did buy me a set of copper pendant lights for Christmas which are featured HERE. But they’re always on my wishlist somewhere. They’ve got some really quirky ideas, and as you’ll see below, they really know how to merge the animal world and interiors today.
Here are my top picks:
1. Hanging Monkey Lamp
Joe and I actually sat down and tried to think of ways we can raise more cash in order to get this in our lounge. We love it that much. By the way, selling my soul if anyone is interested. Very reasonable price…
2. Animal Side Table
Side tables don’t live in our home yet. We simply haven’t got to that stage and quite frankly, my toddler would climb it in a heartbeat. But these make me want to whip out the credit card.
3. Dinosaur Lights
If you’ve known me for all of 5 minutes or more, you’ll probably know I’m a bit dino-mad. And let’s be honest, if you have too many dinosaur accessories in your house, it starts to look a bit like a cheap toy store – even without the kids! I like that these lamps are small, quirky and understated. Need. Them. All.
4. Ostrich Console
I don’t have much to say about this because I think the picture does all the talking. It’s BADASS and if our hallway had more wallspace, this would be exactly what I’d like to see when I walk in the door.
An acual non-animal selection! How freaking cool are these chairs? Really loving the colour combos and I’ve been looking for replacement dining chairs now for 3 years. THREE. Is my search over? Fingers crossed…
What do you think? Like my Top 5? Please tell me I’m not the only one who makes these virtual wishlists from piles of catalogues! Until next month…
