When you’re renovating, decorating, doing household touch-ups, or just live with someone a bit messy, it’s not uncommon to find tools just everywhere in the house. I know this is our situation!
Joe is such a hard worker that it’s not uncommon for him to skip the ‘tidy away the tools’ stage, and make his way onto another project. And I can’t count the amount of times I’ve found drill bits in the cutlery drawer, or a screwdriver in the wardrobe. I once found a selection of expanding foam tubes casually hanging from our hallway radiator, as if that were their intended shelf. Your house becomes a bit of a toolshed I suppose in these situations, and whilst Joe has been gifted the most wonderful tool bag one Christmas, he’s still working on organising his shed properly (a post I’ll one day get him to write) so for the time being, in the house they shall remain.
I remember when we were renovating the kitchen, and we had a selection of drills in with the pans. I can’t even think what they were used for off the top of my head. But there they were. That’s what I thought of when I saw this video below. I think, if Joe could invent something – anything – it would be one drill that he could use for everything. For no, other reason than, “just because”. And if there is something that Joe loves, it’s gadgets. So the advert below really resonated in this household.
It’s a promo video for the new Ixi Collection by Bosch, a cordless screwdriver which comes with adaptors so you can do the coolest things. Yes, it’s a great regular screwdriver in itself (and a compact one so doesn’t take up loads of space if you are one of the suffering wives to a house of tools!). The ones that really caught my eye were the pepper grinder adaptor, and the corkscrew adaptor! In fact, Joe’s reaction was a sweary one, but for the larger audience, here’s the censored version of what he said:
“That’s cool. Ooo that’s cool. NOW THAT IS FLIPPING COOL.”
With adaptors for the gadget lovers amongst you, perhaps if I found it with our pots and pans, it wouldn’t feel so out of place if we can easily crack open a bottle of wine at the same time. I think it would make a fab present for those DIY enthusiasts who may already have everything they need. It’s a seriously cool twist on your run-of-the-mill equipment. Which adaptor do you like the look of?
