For those who read my blog on a regular basis (oh hey there!) you may remember me mentioning in my last post some office chairs that I was adding to my wishlist. Well, that wish became a reality sooner than I thought, as I’ve just welcomed this gorgeous Eames Style Office Chair to our home.
With the office not the largest room ever, it was important that we got something a little less bulky than what we had in the past, and as you can see from the images, it’s super slim line, which I adore.
I chose it in a beautiful grey shade because I’m having a bit of a love affair with the colour at the moment. It’s a nice alternative to your run of the mill black office chairs, and as we haven’t picked a colour scheme yet for the room, I think this light colour is a lovely neutral that will go with anything whilst looking really smart.
But don’ let the subtlety of it’s appearance deceive you though. It’s proper sturdy. In fact, Joe and his 6-foot-something stature tested it – and I mean really tested it. He swung back and forth so abruptly I did have to kindly remind him that it wasn’t in fact a rocking chair. Needless to say, the movement was smooth, and it appears it will last us a long time.
Our last office chair was a gift to Joe and cost just over £100. In all fairness, it’s lasted us a long time but is now completely and utterly battered. This Eames chair is currently on offer from Lakeland Furniture but it retails at £89.99 which I think it pretty bloody good, and competitive with what we’ve purchased in the past.
I love the leather detailing and the curved area in the arms of the chair – perfect for gripping when you’re pulling your chair under the desk. My only criticism is that one of the top bolts appears a little scratched after assembly. Luckily this only happened on one side and has since been made less noticeable after a good buffing.
Now all we need is to get the office plastered, so we can start to whack in our new office addition and actually put it to good use! I hope you like it!
